Parramatta has changed fast. The CBD and surrounding streets are now full of high-rise apartment towers, and moving in or out of one takes a bit more planning than a house move. The good news: once the building is sorted, the move itself is usually quick. Hanjin Removal (한진이사) is based next door in Auburn and moves people in and around Parramatta every week.
Start with your building manager
Almost every Parramatta tower has a building manager and a set of move rules from the strata. Contact them as soon as you know your date and ask:
- How do I book a move? Many buildings use a booking form and only allow a set number of moves per day.
- Is there a bond or fee? Some buildings ask for a refundable bond against damage.
- Which lift, and will it be padded? A good-sized goods lift makes a big difference.
- Loading dock details — the height limit, how long the truck can stay, and how to get in.
- Do they need the removalist’s insurance details? If so, ask us and we’ll send what the building needs.
Measure the big pieces
Apartment doors, lifts and corridors can be tighter than in a house. Measure large items — sofas, fridges, bed bases, wardrobes — and compare them with the lift and doorway sizes. If something won’t fit in one piece, we can usually take it apart and reassemble it at the other end. Let us know when you book.
Plan around move-time windows
Buildings often restrict moves to certain hours so lifts are free for residents. Tell us your booked window and we’ll plan arrival times around it. If you’re moving between two buildings, try to book similar windows at both ends so nothing sits waiting on the street.
No loading dock? Plan the parking
For older walk-up blocks and townhouses, street parking is the main challenge. Keep a space clear out front where you can, and check with City of Parramatta Council about temporary parking or standing permits if your street has restrictions.
Pack for the lift
Boxes that close properly and are a sensible weight stack neatly on trolleys and move through lifts in fewer trips. Label each box with its room — it makes unloading at the new place much faster.
